Filter Units as part of the disaster control
Filter Units as an emergency and temporary solution can prevent erosion or flooding, as well as stabilize areas where subsidence has occurred.
Filter Units / Rockbags: Filled with stones
Filling and installation:
Filter Unit can be produced very quickly (about 6 minutes to produce a 2t net) at a minimum of labor and no need for heavy equipment. They are ready to use within a minimum of time. Filter Units can be filled at site or outside the worksite, be stacked, stored and transported. The installation equipment may be an excavator, telehandler or crane.
A Filter Unit Rockbag is produced by placing the net into the production frame and filling it with stone or rocks. The recommended granulometry of the filling material (mesh size 25 mm) is 50-200 mm. The diameter of a 2t net is 1.9m with a height of 40 cm. By reducing the amount of filling material the height and weight is adjustable. Filter Units are highly maneuverable due to the single point lifting system which allows for a quick, easy and safe installation or removal. Even after removal, Filter Units can be reutilized in a different application.
Filter Unit / Sandbags: filling with filled sandbags
As an alternative to stones, Filter Units can be filled with sandbags. The single point lifting system allows for a quick, easy and safe installation or removal. Even after removal, Filter Units can be reutilized in a different application.
Filter Unit / Geotextile Bag: Filter Units in combination with a geotextile bag
Filter units can be used in combination with a geotextile inlay. The nets can be filled with sand and are therefore no more impermeable to water. The filling can be done via the production frame. The single point lifting system ensures easy handling allowing for a quick, easy and safe installation or removal.
